Why eating on a GLP-1 needs a different plan

GLP-1 medications slow digestion and quiet your appetite. That changes what a good plate looks like: less room means protein has to come first, heavy and greasy food sits uncomfortably, and with less food and slower digestion, fibre and fluid matter more than ever.

Most meal plans weren’t written for that. This one was — small, protein-first, low-grease meals with the foods people most often find hard to tolerate swapped out automatically.

How the GLP-1 Friendly menu works

Protein first, and it never shrinks.Your daily protein is set from your body weight and served first at every meal, even as other portions come down a step.
Stop at comfortable.Portions are a step smaller than standard. Eat slowly and stop when you’re comfortable, not full.
Low-grease swaps.Fried → baked. Cream → Greek yogurt. Butter → a little olive oil. Coconut milk → light. The engine rewrites the week for you.
Easy-on-the-stomach drinks.Fizzy drinks → still water. Sweet drinks → still water with lemon. Alcohol in cooking → broth or vinegar.
Fibre and water, every day.A fibre-rich vegetable at every meal, and still water sipped often — the two things most people run short of.
Your prescriber stays in the loop.We keep your prescriber informed and never give medication advice; those questions go to them.

Processed meats are swapped for fresh protein, and refined starches for whole-grain versions, on this menu too.

What a day might look like

Breakfast Two scrambled eggs, spinach, half a slice of whole-grain toast — protein first
Snack Cottage cheese with a few berries
Lunch Baked chicken, a small portion of quinoa, roasted carrots and green beans
Snack Plain Greek yogurt
Dinner Poached salmon, steamed broccoli, a few small potatoes
All day Still water, sipped often

An example of the shape, not the menu — every week is different, and your own dietary rules are applied on top.

GLP-1 Friendly menu questions

Can I use this menu if I take a GLP-1 medication?

Yes — it is designed to complement your GLP-1 journey. It does not replace medical advice, and we ask you to keep your prescriber informed. Questions about your medication go to your prescriber, not to us.

Why protein first?

When appetite is lower, every bite needs to count. Eating protein first at each meal, with your daily target set from your body weight, is designed to help you keep muscle while you eat less.

Why are fried and very sweet foods swapped out?

Fried, greasy, very sweet and fizzy foods and alcohol are the ones people on GLP-1 medications most often find hard to tolerate. The menu swaps them automatically: fried to baked, cream to Greek yogurt, fizzy drinks to still water.

What about constipation?

The menu includes a fibre-rich vegetable at every meal and reminds you to sip still water through the day. If digestive symptoms are persistent or severe, speak to your prescriber.

Will portions be very small?

Portions are a step smaller than standard and you are encouraged to stop at comfortable — but protein never shrinks, and two snacks a day are included.

What happens if I stop the medication?

You can switch menus monthly from inside the app — many people move to Easy & Clean to keep the habits they have built.
